This page is not only about sessions, times, and kilometres. Part of the point of this project is also to make room for how much running can mean in itself. I like racing, and like many others I have a competitive head, both against myself and against other people. But what matters most to me is not necessarily running the fastest or pushing the watch as low as possible. It is the outings where the terrain, the weather, the view, and the body suddenly work together, and running becomes an experience in its own right. There is room for both here :)

This is where the outings I think deserve a little extra attention end up: harbour-to-summit days, quiet runs that mean more than distance and average pace, but also sessions where I really push a little harder.
The outing that gave the whole project its direction is also the outing everything turns back toward.
This is the outing that gave the whole project its shape. From the quay and up to the heights above Horta, with that very special shift between boat and mountain that settled in my body at once.
When I run it again, it will not only be to repeat something old. It will be a marker of everything that happened between the first thought and the actual return.
See on StravaSome outings have only one job: keeping the rhythm going while the rest of the project is being built. But it is nice to throw in a few harder efforts now and then :)
When fitness is finally getting closer to where it should be, it is fun to grab a record :)
